I am a 45-year-old angler, writer and teacher,
and live on the Wiltshire/Somerset border.
During the week, I am a senior teacher and SENCO
at a large Swindon secondary school, working primarily with students who might otherwise have a poor educational experience
- those with ASD, Asperger's, behaviour problems and so on. I've done it for over twenty years now, and though the
hair has gone from black to grey, my enthusiasm for it hasn't dimmed. It's a privilege.
At other times, I can be found watching hares in the fields, strumming a guitar (in particular,
my Gibson Les Paul Gold Top, a present to myself in gleeful recognition of mid-life crises and neuroses), and fishing.
I've cast regularly since the age of five, so ought to be better at it than I am. Despite my incompetence, I have
written some books about it and contributed to other people's publications too. None of this should imply that I know
what I am doing. I don't. But I know I'm enjoying myself.
a passionate fan of Southampton FC and, in recent years, have discovered the joy of travel. Alongside the Highlands of Scotland,
Italy is my favourite place in the world.
My current projects
include two more books for the Medlar Press and a recently-commissioned novel set in 1950s France.
